This study evaluates postoperative pain levels and interference with daily activities of orthodontic patients after piezocorticision, a method that has been found to reduce the length of treatment. A new surgical guide based on cone-beam computed tomography helps identify precise locations for the incisions, thus avoiding root contact.

Multipurpose Ligation Technique for Elastomeric Chain

Limited access sometimes makes it difficult to secure elastomeric chain to a wire attachment. This simple chairside method can be used to attach a chain to a palatal sheath or a labial miniscrew for efficient molar protraction or incisor intrusion, respectively.
