Caries Detection
BlueCheck is designed for use during dental examinations to aid in the detection of early tooth decay. The product, which is painted on, contains natural hydroxyapatite-binding proteins, a linker, and a dye that binds to sites of demineralization, according to the manufacturer. Any blue color remaining after a water rinse indicates active carious lesions; the bound product can be easily removed from enamel by brushing with toothpaste.

Software Integration
Dolphin Management software is integrating with Grin’s digital teledental platform to optimize patient workflows. The integration initially allows for scheduling and charting interoperability, and will later advance to imaging applications. Connecting with Grin technology gives clinicians an effective way to follow up remotely with patients while still benefiting from Dolphin’s proven imaging and practice-management functions, according to the manufacturer.

Clear Aligner Update
Thanks in part to its acquisition by Straumann, ClearCorrect has enhanced its product offerings, with three major versions of ClearPilot treatment viewer software released in the past year. ClearCorrect aligners leverage ClearQuartz material and a high, flat trim line to give clinicians greater control over their cases; in studies, the material has demonstrated better stain resistance and enhanced control of tooth movement compared with other aligner brands, according to the company. Anterior bite ramps and elastic cutouts are now available.
