AI Software

Romexis 7, a new version of Planmeca’s software platform, incorporates built-in AI-powered features. According to the company, integrated AI operates as a smart assistant, automatically handling routine tasks more efficiently. The first release comes with standard, AI-powered three-­­dimensional imaging tools, such as automatic recognition and segmentation of patient anatomies. Romexis 7 also includes a smart chat function to assist users with software operation.

Bracket Storage

The Cx Precoat Box is a reusable bracket storage system developed by an orthodontist to assist with adhesive preparation. Its airtight, light-blocking design substantially reduces chairtime compared to indirect bonding with precoated brackets, according to the company. Clinical staff can preload brackets with adhesive during downtime, ultimately saving as much as 10 minutes per patient during bracket placement.

Automated Planning

Align Technology has introduced ClinCheck Live Plan, an automated feature that generates an initial doctor-ready Invisalign treatment plan shortly after submission of an eligible case. The system allows clinicians to review proposed tooth movements and approve treatment while the patient is still in the office. According to the company, this feature ultimately increases office efficiency, improves the patient experience, and reduces the time required for Invisalign treatment planning from days to minutes.

Detailing Aligner

OrthoFX has announced AirFlex aligners with PrecisionFinish, a feature intended to improve accuracy during the final stages of orthodontic treatment. The company states that the aligners deliver sustained active force during finishing, in contrast to conventional aligners that may apply higher initial forces and quickly become passive. The company reports that this approach delivers sustained active force throughout the final stages, reducing the need for refinements and overcorrections and leading to predictable outcomes.
