OraCare has released Ortho Protect, a home-care mouth rinse formulated specifically for patients using braces or aligners. According to the company, Ortho Protect features four key ingredients: chlorine dioxide, which can kill decay-causing bacteria; poloxamer 407, which helps create a smooth tooth surface; calcium lactate, which makes calcium available to the patient’s teeth; and xylitol, which assists with re­mineralization and elimination of bacteria.
