Fig. 1 To fit the molar band, place Alastik separators (Unitek Corp.) at the contact points.
Fig. 2 Cut the separators in half with a ligature cutter.
Fig. 3 As the band is seated, it forces the clipped separators into the interdental papillary space.
Fig. 4 The separators are easily removed from either the buccal or lingual side.
Fig. 5 Repeat the procedure for cementation of the band.
