Handpiece
The significantly reduced head size of the Midwest Energo series of electric contra-angle handpieces improves visualization and access for greater precision, according to the company. With ergonomic titanium or stainless steel handles, easily changed burs, and a weight of about 2oz, the handpieces offer simplified handling and increased comfort during daily use. New technology keeps the head of the instrument cool while running, and an integrated water filter reduces the risk of contamination.

3D Printer
The Midas Digital Press 3D Printer from SprintRay combines stereolithographic technology with a new capsule system to overcome previous limits on resin viscosity. Capable of handling thick ceramic-based materials, the printer eliminates the need for large resin vats or other consumable parts and can produce as many as three units in less than eight minutes, according to the company. The Midas printer is integrated with cloud-based software for easy editing.

Self-Engaging Brackets
The self-engaging brackets of the new Brava Plus System simplify the BRIUS lingual orthodontic appliance by using a spring-lock feature to streamline insertion and engagement, according to the manufacturer. Made from a flexible nickel titanium material with superelastic and shape-memory properties, the brackets have a smooth surface for patient comfort and a soft coating that protects the tongue. By integrating digital scans into the associated software, practitioners can plan independent and simultaneous tooth movements for personalized treatment.

Clear Aligners
NiTime clear aligners from OrthoFX are designed to be worn only at night, producing accurate results with only nine to 12 hours of daily use. Made of proprietary HyperElastic polymer material, the aligners deliver consistent forces at lower levels than conventional aligners, thus improving patient comfort and compliance, according to the company. Each aligner consists of two separate layers: a flexible inner shell accommodates random movements to limit the need for refinements due to tracking issues, while a firm outer shell guides teeth toward the planned positions.
