Alveolar Corticotomy for Extrusion of an Ankylosed Lower First Molar

Drs. Takagi, Shimzu, and Tanaka discuss the etiology and diagnosis of ankylosis, along with various surgical and nonsurgical treatment alternatives. In this adult patient, an alveolar corticotomy is performed to facilitate orthodontic extrusion of an ankylosed lower first permanent molar.
