Minimizing Side Effects During Canine Extrusion with Twin Brackets

Canine extrusion can cause unwanted intrusion of the adjacent lateral incisor and first premolar, especially when twin brackets are used. In this Pearl, a “floating O-ring” engages the archwire beneath the bracket, avoiding the generation of a vertical force vector on neighboring teeth.
