Effects of Bisphosphonates on Orthodontic Treatment and the TMJ: A Systematic Review

This review of 34 published articles was designed to help clinicians predict orthodontic treatment outcomes and condylar changes in patients who have taken bisphosphonates. Effects of the drug on bone turnover, tooth movement, root resorption, and endochondral growth of the condyles are examined, and clinical recommendations are made.
