Keeping Letters in Order

If letters are kept in patient folders, this little trick may be very helpful. A blue legal folder sheet, available from almost any office supply company, can be used to keep letters neat and in order. This is a plastic protective cover which folds into thirds and closes into its own flap.

When a letter is sent, the copy is stapled into the legal folder, which is then refolded, and the date and subject of the letter are added to the list of "Letters Sent" on the outside of the folder. It is then placed back in the patient's record file.
