THE EDITOR'S CORNER
I have often heard an orthodontist say that getting just one good idea out of a course or a meeting or a book made the whole thing worthwhile. He could spend hundreds of dollars and days of time and be satisfied to take away one good idea that he could use in his office. I think that in any of the issues of JPO so far there have been more than one good idea that an orthodontist can use in the treatment of his cases and the management of his practice. In addition, we are trying to be economical of your time and money. The cost is little more than a dollar an issue and we have tried to present the idea clearly and with adequate illustrations.
The moment of truth for a fledgling publication occurs at the time of the first subscription renewals. We have reached that point now and we are asking for a vote of confidence from our readers in the form of subscription renewal. We have had many flattering notes and letters from you, but we are far from complacent. We know that we are going to put out a better and better Journal as time goes by. We need you with us as participants--as readers, writers, and subscribers. It is true that our costs have gone up and it is true that the cost of a subscription must go up slightly. However, we are going to publish twelve issues a year instead of ten, and we are making a special offer which will permit subscription and subscription renewal at the old rate for all those whose payment is received by September 1.
You renew your subscription now. We promise to renew our efforts to give you a bigger, better, more interesting and more useful Journal. Together we will move ahead. Use the form at the front of this Journal and join up for another year of JPO.
