Ultrasonic Cleaning System

Featuring a compact, 1.5-gallon stainless steel tank, the BioSonic UC150 ultrasonic cleaning system can be configured differently for items such as beakers, baskets, and as many as four medium instrument cassettes. According to the company, the multilingual touchscreen is easy to use—even with a gloved hand—and the hinged lid doubles as a drying tray. A cassette basket is included, and an optional built-in heating feature is available.

Intraoral Scanner

Dentsply Sirona’s Prime­scan intraoral scanner can complete a full-arch impression, including model calculation, in two to three minutes, according to the manufacturer. The optical impression system scans to a depth of 20mm while capturing as many as 1 million 3D data points per second, providing detailed results for integrating into office workflows or sending to external partners. Both the scanner and acquisition center were designed with smooth, easy-to-clean surfaces.

iPad Photo Light

The new iPad Dental Light improves photo and video illumination for dental photography, according to the company. The LED panels feature a high color-
rendering index and eight levels of brightness (the lowest being ideal for dental photography) and are equipped with removable diffusers and swivel hinges for variable positioning. A power scale allows the user to monitor the built-in lithium-ion batteries. The universal mount can accommodate any Apple iPad except the iPad Pro 12.9.

3D Printer

The Creo C5 chairside 3D printer applies the uniform light source of LCD Photomask technology for precise results in dental applications, according to Planmeca. The printer can produce models in less than 15 minutes and as many as five full-arch models in one print, enabling same-day fabrication of customized surgical guides, dental models, and aligner bases. QR codes on the resin capsules are read by the printer to verify the correct material. No calibration is required, and either open STL or PLY files can be used.
