Clear Brackets
The low-profile Symetri Clear ceramic twin-bracket system provides enough tie-wing and torque strength to avoid breakage even when used with stainless steel ligatures, according to Ormco. Comfortable, rounded surfaces are designed to diffuse light and thus blend well with tooth enamel for better esthetics. The brackets are initially available in the MBT prescription.

Diagnostic Software
ULab Systems has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its next-generation orthodontic software program. According to the company, this platform enables diagnosis and treatment planning in less than five minutes, facilitating same-day starts. Aligner trays or retainers can be fabricated by importing digital scans and exporting STL files for 3D printing.

Bonding Primer
Ultradent’s Peak-ZM zirconia and metal primer enhances adhesion between the bonding surface and resin-based material, increasing bond strength by as much as five times compared to resin cements alone, according to the manufacturer. Composed of a blend of monomers, the primer can be applied to zirconia, alumina, and metal alloys. Peak-ZM is available in 1.2ml syringes and 4ml bottles.

3D Printer
The NextDent 5100 3D printer, currently in the preorder phase, is designed to print as much as four times faster than competitive models, according to the manufacturer. Powered by 3D Systems’ proprietary Figure 4 technology, the printer works with 30 biocompatible and CE-certified dental resins in a variety of esthetic colors.
