Forty Japanese Orthodontists are making their way to the United States in the hopes of reactivating their professions while integrating their existing processes into the standarized practices of America. Dr. Yoshio Nakaga, an practicing Orthodontist from Asakusa, Japan has convinced a league of 39 additional doctors to visit the continental U.S. in the hopes of developing a hyper-efficient system of practices for patients on the go.
Dr. Nakaga, along with a myraid of his peers, have arrived in Houston, TX to review a variety of locations and management options through the recommendations and assistance of the Japan-America Society of Houston. "It is a new venture for our profession." says Pediatric Dentist Junjiro Watanabe. "Entering the United States is a ray of hope for those who find themselves suffering in the congestion of Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka."
With financing in place, the doctors are pursuing the American dream after undergoing a series of entrance exams and months of linguistic assistance from Rice University in downtown Houston. Although the recent fluctations of the U.S. Economic market play a cautious role in their thinking, the innovative spirit of the Japanese doctors takes a significant step towards a brighter future. "It's the most important factor in our lives right now," says Dr. Ju Morimoto, "and we have to lead the charge to welcoming more orthodontists in the future."
