The hyperdivergent profile that typically leads to anterior open bites is one of the most complex malocclusions facing orthodontists. It is often characterized by excessive maxillary posterior dentoalveolar height and, consequently, a steep mandibular plane.

This case shows the effective use of palatal skeletal anchorage in treating an adult patient with a Class II, division 1 malocclusion and anterior open bite.
